Canacona came alive to the beats of Dhol-Tanshe on Sunday as many as 4 groups in Agonda village alone led the way for Intruz celebrations going from home to home singing local songs and dancing to the beats of Dhol, Tanshe, and Kansali.
Several groups were also seen in Loliem, Polem, Bhatpal, and some parts of Poinguinim village.
During the three-day revelry, groups also held prayers at the ward chapels and crosses in the village.
In Palolem, Carnival celebrations are held by taking out different floats on the Palolem beach street on Tuesday evening, the last day of Intruz. In Agonda, on the last day of Intruz, all the group’s ‘Mel’ makes it a point to visit The Miraculous Holy Cross at Val and recite Litany. The revelry continues till 12 midnight of Tuesday.
