IRONMAN 70.3 returns to Goa with record global participation

PANAJI

The fifth edition of IRONMAN 70.3 Goa will be held on November 9 at Miramar, bringing together around 1,300 triathletes from 31 countries. Since its debut in 2019, the event has attracted participants from 62 nations.

Recognised as one of India’s top endurance challenges, the race includes a 1.9-km open-water swim, a 90-km cycling route, and a 21.1-km run along Goa’s scenic coastal roads and city areas. “Goa has always been known for its hospitality, beauty, and festive spirit. Hosting the fifth edition of IRONMAN 70.3 Goa shows our commitment to promoting the State not just as a leisure destination, but also as a growing hub for international sports tourism,” said Director of Tourism Kedar Naik on Friday.

Naik added that the growing number of participating nations reflects confidence in Goa’s ability to host world-class sporting events. Deepak Raj, Founder of Yoska and Country Head for IRONMAN India, called the milestone edition a symbol of the sport’s growing community. “From a few dreamers in 2019 to athletes from 31 countries this year, IRONMAN 70.3 Goa has become a true symbol of endurance and unity. The passion and support of the triathlon community have made Goa the home of IRONMAN in India,” he said.

Actor and race ambassador Saiyami Kher said the event attracts athletes who push their physical and mental limits. “It’s inspiring to see so many participants from across the world come together to test their strength and spirit. As an ambassador and participant, I’m proud to be part of this community that celebrates discipline, resilience, and heart,” she said.

The event is organised by Yoska in collaboration with the Government of Goa and IRONMAN, and the race will flag off from Miramar beach.
