Italian DJ arrested with drugs worth Rs 50L at Assagao

In a major narcotic raid on Sunday, the Anti-Narcotic Cell (ANC) of Goa policy arrested Italian DJ Bobblehead and his accomplice Neil Walter with suspected drugs worth Rs 50.25 lakh.

Police informed that ANC arrested top Italian DJ Michael Lawrence Steffenoni, (32) alias DJ Bobblehead residing at Assagao and Neil Walter (28), from Vagator and seized 50 grams of suspected LSD liquid worth Rs 50 lakh and 50 grams of charas amounting to Rs 25,000.

“Working on prior and specific information, the ANC officials maintained discreet surveillance on the said Italian DJ and his movements and accordingly conducted raid at his rented premise,” police said.

DJ Bobblehead is one of the top names in the psy-party circuit and was working as a resident DJ in one of the popular nightclub in Vagator.

“Both the accused were produced before the Magistrate and remanded to 10 days police custody,” police said.

Police revealed that the accused DJ was scheduled to headline two shows at two different popular night clubs in Anjuna and Vagator area on September 2 and 3. The police also suspect that the said contraband was brought by the DJ for sale and distribution during the said events where the DJ was supposed to perform.

The raid was conducted and led by ANC Police Sub-Inspector Manjunath Naik along with Head constables. The raid was conducted under the supervision of Police Inspector of ANC Sajith Pillai while it was monitored by DySP Nerlon Albuquerque and SP ANC Bossuet Silva. The case is further being investigated by PSI Dindayalnath Redkar.
