Journo's death condoled at Canacona
CANACONA: Rich tributes were paid to journalist and social worker late Freddy Rebello at a condolence meet in Canacona on Friday.
The Canacona Patrakar Sangh (CPS) organized a special meet at Chaudi to condole the death of its ex-president and member Freddy Rebello, who passed away after a brief illness on September 5.
CPS president Ajit Painginkar garlanded the portrait of Rebello and said the demise of Rebello had left a void and his absence would be felt in the Canacona Patrakar Sangh.
Other members placed flowers at the portrait and shared their experiences with Rebello and his contribution to journalism. He hailed from the State’s border of Shelim in Loliem-Polem village. Rebello, a lawyer by qualification, served as a journalist for over 25 years and was also involved in social work.
Rebello is survived by his wife, daughter and a son, besides his aged mother and brothers.
