PANAJI : The state government-appointed Task Force Committee expressed complete dissatisfaction towards the renovation work of Kala Academy. The committee, during its first meeting today, listed a series of problems related to the renovation work that need immediate attention.
"For the renovation work, we can't even give passing marks. There are so many problems, from the AC to sound and leakages. Expertise on board is required to resolve this," said committee chairman Vijai Kenkre.
Kenkre confirmed that contractors will be summoned for the next meeting, scheduled for November 10. Experts will also be called in to oversee and suggest solutions for the problems.
"We need certain experts to resolve these problems. We’ve made a list. The contractors will be called for the next meeting wherein questions would be raised about their work," Kenkre stated.
Kenkre said that the contractors would be held accountable for poor work and no payment would be done.
Kenkre also reaffirmed the committee's commitment to restoring the Kala Academy’s reputation as a premier cultural venue. "Kala Academy will be the finest acoustically designed auditorium in India," he promised, ensuring the renovation will meet the highest standards
