The KTCLRT app is presently available on the Playstore and has been downloaded by almost 500 users so far. The interface has been designed to operate as a real time ticket booking and pass renewal application for all Kadamba routes on android mobile phones. Once the app is operationalized, KTCL will permit the use of e-tickets and e-passes by the passengers who have accounts on the app.
The payment options available on the app include SBI Buddy Wallet, debit card, credit card, netbanking as well as IMPS.
Speaking to The Goan, Managing Director of KTCL Derrick Pereira Neto stated, "We are working towards making the KTCLRT app operational within a month. It has to be integrated with our existing system for access to real time details."
He informed that this will be followed by upgradation of the system to allow the use of ATM cards in booking tickets at the counters. Presently, ATM cards are preferably used at all Kadamba counters for renewal of concession passes.
As per the KTC website, its fleet strength is almost 570 with 365 buses plying the routes and operating 87,690 kms every day. In the year 2015-16, 36 crore passengers availed the benefits of Kadamba services.
In recent months, Kadamba management has laid thrust on the use of eco-friendly fuel. One bio-gas-run green bus and two ethanol-powered buses were incorporated into the Kadamba fleet on the Independence Day on three-month pilot basis with the aim of increasing this number to 40 by February 2018.
Meanwhile, Kadamba staff and management will participate in a function at its headquarters in Porvorim to mark the 37th anniversary.
