Labourer dies in factory mishap at Cuncolim industrial estate

MARGAO
The Cuncolim Industrial Estate was back in the news again after a young 19-year-old labourer from Bihar died in an accident in a steel factory.
Cuncolim police have registered a case of unnatural death in connection with the death of the labourer, Kamlesh Kumar.
Sources said officials of the factories and boilers visited the factory premises to conduct an inquiry.
Cuncolim Police station in-charge, PI Tukaram Chawan informed that the incident occurred two days ago when the labourer engaged was working with a crowbar in handling coal in a mixer.
“The crowbar is believed to have entered deep in the mixer, as a result of which it rebounded back and hit the labourer,” PI Chawan said, leaving the worker with serious injuries before he succumbed to the injuries.
This is not the first time that a labourer from outside the state has died at the Cuncolim industrial estate while working in the units.
