Land mafia running State, asserts GSM

Putting the BJP on notice, Goa Suraksha Manch President, Anand Shirodkar, on Monday said it will soon expose the wrongdoings of BJP ministers and MLAs in the State and work hard to obliterate the saffron party in Goa.

“A land mafia runs the government in the State. Some of these corrupt BJP ministers and MLAs have bought properties in neighbouring states along Goa border. Our team is screening a big set of documents and soon we will expose all these ministers and MLAs,” Shirodkar thundered.
The GSM chief was addressing a meeting after admitting BJP’s executive member and chairman of North Goa District Hospital, Paresh Raikar, along with around 200 BJP workers and sympathizers from Mapusa and Siolim into the nascent party.
He said many senior leaders of BJP are joining the party and some more will be admitted in the days to come. “In fact core BJP cadre has joined lock, stock and barrel into the Goa Surasksha Manch,” he informed the gathering.
Lashing out at the BJP, he alleged that the ministers and MLAs of BJP have come into politics only to make money and not for the love of Goans.
He said the BJP in State was jittery and therefore has decided to come out with the Vijay Sankalp Rally to resurrect its falling fortunes in the State. “BJP had to resort to the Vijay Sankalp Rally because it has failed and are not sure of winning,” he said.
He said BJP’s attempt to appease the minorities will cost them dearly and they will repent it later.
“If BJP’s appeasement policy leads to division between Hindus and Christians in the State, then only BJP will be responsible for it,” he said.
Paresh Raikar said it was a difficult decision for him to quit but ultimately he had to do so because he never compromised on principles. He said BJP rode to power in 2012 assembly elections on serious issues like Medium of Instruction, corruption, casinos, etc.
“BJP has gone back on its word on MoI and has not done much to reduce corruption. Even on casinos the party failed to honour its promise,” Raikar said.
Advocate Raidayanath Shirodkar called on the people of Goa to free Goa from the BJP and Congress rule and bring Goa Suraksha Manch to power. “Besides the key Medium of Instruction issue, corruption, prostitution, drugs has doubled in Goa,” he said.
Giving a clarion call for “Congress yukt and BJP mukt Goa”, he said it was time
to stop BJP from destroying Goa further.
