CANACONA
Lauding journalists in Canacona for their work, Deputy Speaker and Canacona MLA Isidore Fernandes recollected the well-known sacrifices of Bal Gangadhar Tilak in sowing the seeds of Purna-Swaraj in 1890.
Fernandes was speaking in the presence of Canacona Municipal Council Chairperson Simon Rebello at the 101st death anniversary of Lokmanya Tilak organised by Canacona Patrakar Sangh in its press room on Sunday.
The portrait of Tilak was garlanded and floral tributes were paid by Fernandes, Rebello, Canacona Patrakar Sangh president Ajit Poinginkar, Secretary Sanjay Komarpant, Shrishthal Biodiversity Management Committee president Vinay Tubki and others.
CMC Chairperson Simon Rebello also thanked Canacona journalists for bringing to notice various issues of the elected representatives which in turn helped them to serve society better.
