Liberation Day celebrated at Vasco
PANAJI: Minister for Power Milind Naik unfurled the national flag to celebrate Goa's Liberation Day at SAG ground Vasco.
Naik said that freedom fighters who fought for liberation assigned us the task of maintaining peace and harmony and working together for prosperity of our people.
Naik further said that this is an occasion for us to recall sacrifices and martyrdom of the freedom fighters.
Naik advised students to work hard to excel in their studies, be honest and good citizens.
Earlier Naik inspected the Guard of Honour presented by the Police and the March Past by school students. The function was followed by a cultural programme. He then presented prizes to winners of March Past drill organized on December 4.
Deepak Naik, chairman VMC, Shashikant Parab, vice-chairman, Sanjay Satardekar, Nankumar Raut Damodar Kaskar, councillors, Sabaji, Shetye Deputy Collector, SDM Vasco, Vimod Dalal Nathan Afonso and others were present at the function.
