Drishti Marine had a busy and high-alert weekend along Goa’s coastline, with lifesavers stopping a suicide attempt, rescuing 13 people from drowning, and tracing two missing children.
The most serious case was at Baina beach, where a 37-year-old woman from Vasco walked into the sea saying she wished to end her life. She was pulled by a rip current but was rescued in time, stabilised, given oxygen, and handed over to the 108 ambulance service. Police are investigating.
Meanwhile, two missing children at Calangute and Candolim were traced and reunited with their families.
