Managing committee under Bepari deemed as legitimate

The District Registrar and Inspector General of Registration (South) has recognized the Managing Committee elected on 5th January 2025 under the presidency of Imtiyaz Bepari as the legitimate and valid Managing Committee of Anjuman Islahul Muslameen

The Judgement and Order passed by the District Registrar and Inspector General of Societies, South Suraj Vernekar has said the committee headed by Bepari shall decide on the newly inducted members (serial No 893 to 912) by holding a Special General Body Meeting after following principles of Natural Justice and after following the procedure prescribed under the bye laws of the Society.

Vernekar further said the copy of the order will be referred to the Police Inspector, Fatorda Police Station and Maina Curtorim PS, for necessary action regarding the existing FIRs and for further investigation into the documented systematic frauds and forgery offenses, including those related to the signatures of the deceased person and other three members (Juned Shaikh, Shakil Ahmed, and Chaman), saying it amount to offences under sections of the BNS and other relevant statutes.

The Inspector General has directed respondent Ashraj Pandial to immediately hand over all records, documents, seals, bank account details, properties, and assets of Anjuman Islahul Muslameen to the legitimate Managing Committee under Imtiyaz Bepari within 10 days from the date of this Order.

The order has declared the acts, decisions, or transactions undertaken by the Ashraf Pandial or his purported Managing Committee after 5th January 2025 null and void and of no legal effect.

“Based on the alleged systematic fraud, forgery, multiple criminal charges, and fundamental violations of the Bylaws of the society, the purported Managing Committee under the Respondent is declared invalid and of no legal effect. Conversely, the evidence confirms that the Managing Committee elected under the presidency of complainant  Imtiyaz Bepari, is the legitimate and valid committee”, the order stated.
