The District Magistrate, North Goa, Mamu Hage has ordered the closure of the road from Old Goa to Gaundalim which is crossing Konkan Railway track at KM 411/6-7 through a Level crossing gate No 37 for three days from April 26 to April 28 in view of road-related works.
The closure has been slated from 11 pm to 6 am during the three days and as per the order, the road traffic may be diverted through alternative roads (Gaundalim - Khandola ” Marcel ” Banastarim - Ponda and Gaundalim - Old Goa - Panaji), subject to compliance of directions such as deployment of maximum Trafï¬c Marshals round the clock, contractor to install red lamps/lights at the construction site for clear visibility during night time, sufficient traffic signage/directional boards at all the road closure points, etc.
The agency undertaking the works is also directed to not dump construction material on the road as it would obstruct the road users and motorists.
