The Congress on Sunday decided to sack Calangute MLA Michael Lobo from the post of Leader of Opposition.
“The party has decided to immediately remove Michael Lobo from the post of the Leader of Opposition," AICC General Secretary Dinesh Gundu Rao said told reporters.
The party will also take action against Congress MLA from Margao Digambar Kamat for hatching a conspiracy against the party, he added.
The development comes amid speculation that some Congress MLAs in the 40-member House may cross over to the BJP.
