Loliem-Polem Panchayat availed ₹2.5 crore in funds during the last term and expects to receive ₹3.5 crore in the current term, informed ex-Sarpanch and panch of Loliem-Polem, Ajay (Ajit) Lolienkar.

Lolienkar was speaking while expressing gratitude to Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar, who had earlier launched the installation of crash barriers along the road near the railway station at Pedem, under the jurisdiction of the Village Panchayat of Loliem-Polem.

"This project, aimed at enhancing road safety and preventing accidents, reflects a commitment to safeguarding commuters and pedestrians," stated Tawadkar after garlanding the foundation stone to mark the commencement of the crash barrier installation.

Village Sarpanch Nisha Chari, panchayat members, and local residents were also present at the event.

Speaking on behalf of Loliem-Polem Panchayat, ex-Sarpanch and panch Ajit (Ajay) Lolienkar praised Tawadkar’s efforts, stating that the panchayat had availed Government of India (GI) funds amounting to over ₹2.5 crore in the previous term. He added that, due to Tawadkar’s initiatives, Loliem-Polem Panchayat will receive GI funds worth over ₹3.5 crore this term.

Ajay Lolienkar further mentioned that a unique beautification project is underway in the village, featuring a 'Triveni Sangam'”a convergence point surrounding a church, temple, and panchayat office. Additionally, road widening, blacktopping, and various other development works are being carried out for the benefit of the public.
