Guardian Angel Sports Club scored a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Assonora United Football Club in an exciting match of the 17th London Trophy Inter Village Football Tournament 2025 organised by Goa Velha Sports Club.
Assonora United Football Club surged ahead through Vineet Bugde who shot into the Guardian Angel goal with the keeper Russel Fernandes caught out of position.
Guardian Angel Sports Club missed a glorious chance to equalise but Godwin Fernandes shot over the crossbar from close range after a Livan Clemente header was not collected cleanly by the Assonora keeper Anil Dessai. Jason Dias restored parity for Guardian Angel Sports Club when he tapped home with the Assonora keeper Anil Dessai beaten in the 28th minute of play.
Jovian Conceicao put Assonora United Football Club ahead when seeing the Guardian Angel keeper Russel Fernandes leave his goal shot over him into the goal in the 30th minute of play. Assonora United Football Club led 2-1 at the break.
In the second half, Adrian Gomes of Guardian Angel Sports Club blasted over the Assonora goal from close range in the 40th minute of play. Jaison Dias scored his brace and equalised for Guardian Angel Sports Club when he after a solo run from the centre line shot into the Assonora goal giving no chance to the keeper Anil Dessai in the 42nd minute of play.
Jaison Dias missed to score his hat-trick when he headed wide with only the Assonora keeper Anil Dessai to beat in the 47th minute of play. Jaison Dias scored his hattrick and the match-winner for Guardian Angel Sports Club in the 64th minute of play. Substitute Prajot Arabekar of Assonora United Football Club saw his effort saved brilliantly tipped over for a corner by Russel Fernandes in the Guardian Angel goal in the 67th minute of play.
Vishan Asnodkar of Assonora United Football Club was cautioned by the match referee Rohidas Bhomkar for reckless tackle. Jaison Dias of Guardian Angel Sports Club was awarded the Man of the Match by Adolf Caiado, player and member of Goa Velha Sports Club.
