People from Sanguem taluka turned up in large numbers to cast their votes, and though the voting in most of the panchayats in the taluka was peaceful, locals complained about long queues.
Locals complained that arrangements to have voting of two or more wards at one booth was not helpful to voters. “This system took much time for voters as they had to wait in long queues to cast their votes,” one local told The Goan.
“A few women who had come to cast their votes returned home, as they felt the queues were too long and chances of rainfall were high,” the local added.
