Announcing the awards for the cooperative sector in Goa, Industries Minister Mahadev Naik announced that the Sattari Urban Cooperative Credit Society, Valpoi, has been declared as the best.
Besides this, there are three awards, which are given to individuals for showing outstanding merit in the field of co-operation in Goa.
Late Manohar Parab Gaonkar won Goa Sahakar Ratna posthumously. This award carries a cash prize of Rs 1,25,000. Vivek Prabhu Dessai won Goa Sahakar Bhushan award, which carries a cash prize of Rs 75,000. And, Ravindra U Phaldessai won Goa Sahakar Shree, which carries a cash prize of Rs 50,000.
