The All Goa Senior Citizens’ Federation has knocked the doors of the Maintenance Tribunal to intervene and ensure that a lady senior citizen, who had entered her house on Monday continues to live in her house peacefully without any future
incident.
Federation president and Conciliation Officer Diogo M Da Costa made the fervent plea to the Tribunal after
the senior citizen, who entered her house as per an order of the Deputy Collector, Margao and with police protection, had to face an incident when her belongings were thrown out of the house on Tuesday.
Diogo told the media that armed with the order passed by the deputy Collector, the Federation approach the Superintendent of Police, South Goa, who issued directions to the Cuncolim police station in-charge, to provide police protection and allow the senior citizen to break open the lock of her own house.
The SP, South had further directed the police to ensure that the beat police do the follow up and remain in contact with the senior citizen from time
to time.
Diogo, however, said a relative of the senior citizen intimated the Federation on Tuesday that some persons came to the house and threw her belongings out.
“We appeal to the Maintenance Tribunal as well as the police to reach out to the beleaguered senior citizen by initiating prompt action,” he appealed.
