Revenue Minister Atanasio Babush Monserrate heard people's grievances at the Prashasan Tumchya Dari programme held at Deputy Collector's office at Ponda on Friday.
Deputy Collector Egna Cleetus, IAS, Additional Collector III Vishal Kundaikar, Managing Director for Goa Waste Management Corporation Levinson Martins, Chairperson for Ponda Municipal Council Ritesh Naik along with the officials from various government departments were also present on the occasion.
The Revenue Minister heard the complaints of the various panchayats in Ponda taluka regarding garbage, property, and land disputes in addition to hearing about specific job-related and other issues.
Monserrate has directed all the officers to review the grievances seriously to find out its solution and also assured that all issues would be addressed and resolved in the best manner possible.
The Revenue Minister told the media that since the majority of panchayats have voiced concerns about the lack of land for MRF plants for garbage treatment, the government is working to amend the Community Act to determine the best solution for Garbage Treatment Plants.
Earlier, the Revenue Minister distributed the Krishi card to eligible farmers.
Following the programme, the Minister and other officials visited the Ponda municipality to hear the grievances of panchas etc. He ensured that the grievances would be addressed by the law.
