The Margao police have arrested a 41-year old father for having allegedly raped his own daughter when she was a minor around five years ago.
Margao Police Station in-charge, PI Tulsidas Naik informed that the incident had occurred around five years ago when the victim daughter was a minor girl of 12 years.
The police have arrested the accused father after the mother lodged a complaint stating about the incident that had taken place five years when she was in the hospital.
Police said the mother has stated that a complaint to this effect was not lodged since the accused father had threatened the minor daughter with dire consequences.
Since then, the father, a native of Bellary-Karnataka has been staying away from the family. The mother has lodged the complaint after the girl narrated her ordeal as there were reports that the father is likely to come back to the family as she feared sexual assaults in the future.
