VASCO:
A man from New Vaddem was arrested by Vasco Police on Tuesday on charges of sharing an offensive post on his social media account.
The accused, Mohammad Shareef Mandale, was arrested after a complaint was filed stating that the image was deliberately shared with the intent to outrage religious sentiments and provoke communal disharmony.
The post had caused widespread anger and outrage among the Hindu community
On receiving the complaint, Vasco Police registered an offence under relevant sections and arrested the accused under Sections 192, 196, and 299 of BNS 2023.
PSI Rohan Madgaonkar of the Vasco police station is carrying out further investigation under the supervision of PI Kapil Nayak and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Salim Shaikh.
