Vasco Police have arrested one person after seizing suspected ganja weighing 1.2 kg valued at Rs 1.2 lakh during a raid at a building under construction near the Coast Guard area at Fakir Gali, Vasco in the wee hours of Friday.
According to Vasco Police, the incident occurred between 12.40 am and 3.10 am, when the accused, identified as Tilakdhari Yadav, of Sai Nagar, Vasco and a native of Uttar Pradesh, was allegedly found in illegal possession of a substance suspected to be ganja.
Police registered an offence under Section 20 (b)(ii)(B) of the NDPS Act, 1985, under Vasco Police Station Crime No. 49/2025. The accused was placed under arrest and has been remanded to seven days of police custody.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Mayur Sawant of Vasco Police Station under the supervision of PI Vaibhav Naik and guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
