Man dies of gunshot wound in a hunting trip at Quepem

A hunting trip ended in tragedy when a 42-year-old man from Maikandi-Rivona died of a gunshot wound from a gun trap laid to kill wild animals at Zaler-Maina in Quepem.

According to reports, Vasu Gaonkar and a friend were installing a gun trap, when he accidentally stamped on the trap and gun fired.

Gaonkar sustained injuries and was shifted to Hospicio in Margao, where he was declared dead on arrival.

Quepem police has arrested, Dattaprasad Podiyar, under Section 304 IPC and the Arms Act. PI Deepak Pednekar is investigating the case.
