Five persons were arrested for attempt to murder on Sunday, Mapusa Police informed.
All five have been remanded to five days police custody.
According to police, complainant, Nagesh Gawali, a resident of Assonora said that the five accused persons “ Sajat Karol, Kshitesh Gadkar, Siddharth Parwar, Nikesh Kavlekar and Apurv Hoble “ residents of Bicholim assaulted him over previous enmity.
The incident took place on Saturday evening when all the five alleged accused went to the complainant’s house and made inquiries about his whereabouts.
After getting information that the complainant was at his friend’s house, the alleged accused went to the friend’s house and started assaulting the complainant. When his friend rushed to his rescue he too was assaulted, police informed.
When complainant made an attempt to escape, the alleged accused chased him and assaulted him further, police said. The complainant is currently undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim.
All the accused were brought before a Mapusa court which remanded them to five days police custody.
