Three persons arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in an alleged drug case have secured conditional bail from the Additional Sessions Judge, Mapusa, on Thursday.
Alleged accused Sunny Dhupdale, Shashank Bandekar and Pranil Shinde were taken into custody by the NCB’s Goa Zonal Unit on September 29 following an investigation into alleged drug-related activities.
During the operation, NCB officials searched Shinde’s residence as well as his father-in-law’s house at Shetyewaddo in Mapusa.
The agency claimed to have seized narcotic substances from Shinde’s residence.
The court granted relief to the three accused after hearing submissions from both sides, imposing separate bail amounts and restrictions on their movements.
Shinde’s release was secured against a personal bond of Rs 50,000 and one local surety for an equivalent amount. Dhupdale and Bandekar were each granted bail on a personal bond of Rs 25,000, backed by one local surety of the same amount.
As part of the bail conditions, the accused have been barred from interfering with the investigation by threatening or influencing witnesses, or tampering with evidence. They have also been directed to appear at the police station on the 15th of every month between 10 am and 1 pm until the chargesheet is filed.
