Mardol police on Tuesday began a tenant and house-help verification drive in villages across its jurisdiction.
On the first day, some local panch members assisted the Mardol police in the collection and verification of details of migrants.
Under the guidance of Police Inspector Yogesh Sawant, the Mardol Police will collect details of tenants and house-helps from October 1 to October 10.
Police have appealed to the house owners to cooperate in providing information about the migrant workers renting out their rooms.
Two industrial estates at Marcaim and Kundaim fall under the jurisdiction of Mardol police station and a large number of migrant workers live in rented rooms at both places.
Apart from these industrial estates, a large number of migrant workers also live in Marcela area.
