Margao civic job exams begin after 10 months

MARGAO

Nearly 10 months after the Margao Municipal Council invited applications to fill 13 posts of LDCs, one supervisor and a mason, the written examinations will finally be held from tomorrow. Margao Congress Block Convener Savio Coutinho has, however, demanded transparency in the process.

He said the MMC Chief Officer should make public the number of applications received for each post, along with the list of those accepted and rejected. “We have reliable information that the applications submitted in the first week of November 2024 were tampered with by vested interests,” Coutinho alleged.

He further pointed out that although the written tests are scheduled for August 23 and 24 at centres in Navelim, Cuncolim and Porvorim, many call letters have not been sent to candidates. “This will prevent several applicants from appearing for the exam,” he added.

He also appealed to applicants who have not received their call letters to contact him on 9423884016.

Chief Officer Madhu Narvekar assured that no candidate would be denied the chance to appear for the exams.
