THE GOAN NETWORK

MARGAO: The Margao Municipality has got the Traffic cell to tow away three vehicles which were found parked and abandoned around the Lohia Maidan.

Margao Municipal Chief officer Ajit Panchwadkar got the Margao Traffic Cell to lift away the three vehicles, including two Maruti vans, which have been parked along the roadside for a long time.

Panchwadkar told The Goan that his attention was drawn to the reports that these vehicles have been permanently parked at three places on the roads leading to the Lohia Maidan. “After verifying reports, I realised that these vehicles were used by hawkers and traders to store goods. I have been told that these goods were later offered for sale on the city pavements and footpaths”, he said.

He said the Margao Municipal Council will continue to crack the whip against illegal activities in the city.
