MARGAO WITNESSES HUGE RUSH

MARGAO

The commercial capital witnessed a huge rush of shoppers as people went into a panic buying mode on Saturday ahead of the curfew that would come into force from Sunday.

Almost all the markets, the SGPDA market, Gandhi market and the new market area saw shoppers making a rush to buy essential and other food items.

Thousands of people made a rush to the SGPDA market as evident by the number of vehicles parked on the parking lot and the crowds outside the vegetable, fish and meat stalls. Almost all the beef stalls saw a huge rush of crowds, anxiously awaiting their turn to lay their hands on beef meat.

The fish market at the SGPDA market also saw fish lovers thronging into the market to make purchases of their favourite fish.

The Margao Gandhi market also saw a huge rush of shoppers to buy and stock vegetables. People from Margao and neighbouring Salcete made a queue in the market for the purchase of vegetables.

Almost all the shops and stalls selling poultry products witnessed a huge queue of shoppers, right from the morning. The departmental stores also witnessed a queue of people from morning to evening to make last-minute purchases before the curfew.
