The pandemic and lockdowns have impacted children and teenagers in multiple ways and a massive exercise to understand the magnitude of this effect is being launched by Sethu, a charitable trust professionally active in the field of child development and family guidance.
Sethu has sent out survey forms through multiple digital platforms and urged parents to consent to their 10 to 18-year-olds to give their say on what they think the impact of the pandemic has been on themselves.
“We need your support to understand the magnitude of this effect so that steps can be taken to help our children. Please help us by filling out this anonymous survey,” says the appeal sent out by Team Sethu.
The survey involves two forms -- one for the parents/caregiver to give their version and the other for the child/teenager’s version.
“If your children are between 10-18 years old, we’d love to hear what they think. If they are willing, please ask them to fill out the Child/Teenager version of the survey after you have completed the consent section of the form,” says the appeal from team Sethu.
The findings of the survey will be analysed and incorporated in Sethu’s future interventions to assist children facing difficulties.
Sethu professionally caters to children with developmental, behavioral, emotional and learning difficulties, from birth to 19 years. It also provides guidance to parents on how to care and help prepare other caregivers to assist in children’s holistic development.
It also provides diagnostic services towards aiding early assessment and intensive intervention to help the child’s development through focus on their strengths.
Services offered by Sethu include assessment and diagnosis related to delays in child development, autism intervention, speech and language therapy, parent and teacher training, remedial education, behaviour therapy, child psychotherapy and counseling.
