The St. Sebastian Parish in Aquem organised its first event as part of the Jubilee 2025 celebrations. A Konkani solo and duet singing competition, Kantaram Lharam, took place on January 25, 2025. The competition was open to parishioners from all parishes across Goa. Just as pilgrims travel with purpose and hope, each of the 38 finalists represented a voice filled with dreams, stories, and aspirations.
The event began with the unveiling of the Jubilee banner by Parish Priest Fr. Agnelo Rodrigues, followed by the singing of the Jubilee Hymn in both English and Konkani. The St. Sebastian Parish Choir, led by Assistant Parish Priest Fr. Josely Rocha, set a divine tone for the occasion.
Another special moment was when the Kantaram Lharam executive committee honoured four church employees, in line with the Jubilee ideas suggested by the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman. Francis Duarte (Xavier), Agostinha Dias, Mary Baptista, and Inacio Fernandes were felicitated by Fr. Agnelo Rodrigues for their long-standing service to the Church.
The executive committee of Kantaram Lharam also expressed their gratitude to The Goan for providing exclusive coverage of the event and presented a memento as a token of appreciation.
