One Shiva More, resident of St Caitanwado-Merces was arrested by the Old Goa police, on Wednesday, for preparing forged documents and cheating the complainant of Rs 6 lakh on pretext of providing a government job.
According to information available, Laxmi Naik of Voilem Bhat-Merces lodged a complaint against More on October 30 stating that the accused along with another accused Sarita Kerkar cheated her on the pretext of providing a government job for which Rs 6 lakh was paid.
Acting on the complaint, the Old Goa police formed a team to apprehend both the accused who however concealed themselves and applied for anticipatory bail before the Sessions Court, which was rejected.
Following which, both the accused filed anticipatory bail before the High Court which also got rejected.
A police team was then sent to Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra to trace the accused.
After meticulous planning and analysis of call details records, the police team managed to nab one of the accused namely Shiva More who confessed commission of the offence, and on Wednesday he was arrested in the case.
