MGP leader and Marcaim MLA Sudin Dhavalikar on Tuesday categorically stated that the MGP will not have any pre-poll alliance with the BJP for the forthcoming assembly elections.
"We will not join the BJP again. The BJP has time and again backstabbed us despite an alliance on four occasions since 1999,” said Dhavalikar, at a news conference.
“I had helped BJP to be in power and they betrayed us and threw us out of the government,” said Dhavalikar.
Dhavalikar also ruled out the chances of an alliance with the NCP and Congress.
"We don't have any plans to have an alliance with the NCP,” said Dhavalikar.
Dhavalikar said the MGP is working across 12 constituencies in full swing and said the number of constituencies could increase.
“Our party will give preference to give good young leaders tickets in the upcoming assembly elections,” he said.
Criticising the State government on poor internet connectivity and lack of access to online education, Dhavalikar said the government had failed to provide free education to poor students.
Dhavalikar also informed that if his party were to come to power, they would implement the Motor Vehicle Act and the New Education Policy.
