MARGAO: “Miracle saved me and my wife,” was the reaction of Anthony Borges, the owner of the Duster car which was rammed by the ill-fated bus before turning turtle near the Military Camp at Rawanfond on Wednesday. A sailor by profession, Anthony had just reached home before dawn on Wednesday after a successful voyage. After attending the early morning Mass at the Our Lady of Rosary Church, Navelim, Anthony with wife Pramila dropped their children to school before heading to Chandor to inquire about the health of his mother-in-law. Narrating the incident from the hospital bed, where he is being treated for injuries, Anthony said he could see the speeding bus about to ram against his car. Within seconds, he described, the bus hit the driver’s side of the car. “I had fastened my seat belt. The air bags saved me and my wife from the impact,” he recalled, while thanking the almighty for the miracle.
