MLA leads march to express solidarity with Pahalgam victims

Tourism Minister and Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte led a candlelit march in Porvorim to express solidarity with the Pahalgam victims and their families.

Others participating in the march included Zilla Panchayat member Kavita Naik, Penha de Franca Sarpanch Swapnil Chodankar, Socorro Sarpanch Sonia Pednekar, panch members of Penha de Franca, Socorro, and Salvador do Mundo, and BJP Mandal President Vinita Parab.

The candlelit procession started from Vidhya Prabhodini High School and proceeded through Porvorim via Art Park, with people holding Indian flags and placards.

Later, speaking on this occasion, Khaunte condemned the terror attack in Pahalgam and paid condolences to those who had lost their loved ones.

“The entire nation is united in fighting cross-border terrorism,” said Khaunte.

PANAJIFollowing directions from the Centre, the Goa Directorate of Education (DoE) has directed all schools and self-help groups (SHGs) serving mid-day meal to students, to cut cooking oil usage by 10 per cent in school meals.The department has also directed SHGs and Schools to submit monthly report on reduction of cooking oil in the usage. Schools are told to encourage school canteens to offer healthier, low-oil meal options and promote nutritious alternatives.The…
