Guess how come waste is disposed off along the railway tracks in the Khareband area of the commercial capital.
When the Margao Municipal Council is spending over Rs five crore on waste collection every year, questions may be raised how come waste is still disposed off in the open.
Well, none other than Margao Municipal Vice Chairperson Deepali Sawal saw for herself the state of affairs at Khareband when she descended in her ward on Monday.
Taken by surprise over waste dumping along the railway tracks in her ward, Deepali sought to find out from the residents, only to be told that the waste is disposed off by the locals.
She later told the media that she would find out from the civic body wheter the municipality is collecting garbage fees from the local residents, adding that a solution will be found out to the issue.
