Government staff will be expected to visit offices on Saturday, but their presence will not be to attend to any work. Instead, they will be attentive to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s special interaction with beneficiaries and stakeholders of Aatmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa programme via video conference at 11 am.
This is the first time ever for any State that the prime minister will be interacting with all panchayats of the State under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Campaign, an initiative of the Union Government launched by the Prime Minister on May 12, 2020.
The administration has made elaborate arrangements across the State to enable government employees and the general public to view the prime minister’s interaction.
All the Swayampurna Mitras, Taluka Nodal Officers and Paryavekshaks, secretaries of all panchayats and chief officers of all municipal bodies shall attend the programme at their respective locations.
The government staff has been asked to report to offices “ either their own offices or the nearest government office “ to listen to the PM’s address. The heads of departments have been directed to submit a report along with photos of staff who have attended the event in the office.
A government appointed agency has made arrangements to telecast the PM’s speech through LED screens at major bus stands in Panaji, Margao, Vasco, Mapusa and Ponda.
In addition, the general public can watch the programme live on LED screens at Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir (Ponda), Ravindra Bhavan (Fatorda), Ravindra Bhavan (Curchorem) and at Ravindra Bhavan (Sankhali).
Arrangements have also been made the PM’s virtual interaction at the offices of the panchayats and municipal councils across the State.
The Department of Information will host the programme live on its social media handles such as Facebook (IPGoa) and Twitter(@dip_goa), while the Chief Minister’s Office will host the programme live on their Facebook, Twitter and Youtube handles.
The initiative of Swayampurna Goa, launched on October 1, 2020, was inspired by the clarion call given by the Prime Minister for ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’.
Under this programme, a state government officer is appointed as ‘Swayampurna Mitra’. The Mitra visits a designated panchayat or municipality, interacts with people, coordinates with multiple government departments and ensures that various government schemes and benefits are available to the eligible beneficiaries.
In a tweet on Friday night, Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa programme as “an innovative effort to ensure the fruits of development reach the intended beneficiaries.”
