Moira local held with   ganja worth Rs 1 lakh

The Mapusa Police has arrested a 29-year-old man from Moira with 1.1 kg of ganja worth Rs 1.10 lakh.

A case has been registered against the accused, Vishal Ramesh Bordekar, resident of Calizor in Moira under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Mapusa Police.

Police nabbed the accused red-handed in possession of 1.1 kg of greenish colour grass like substance suspected to be ganja worth Rs 1.10 lakh.

Acting on specific information, police on Friday late night conducted a raid near the Moira village panchayat and found the accused in possession of the contraband.

The narcotic substance along with other articles has been attached by the police.

Police booked and arrested the accused under section 20 (b) (ii) (B) of NDPS.

The following staff participated in the raid: PSI Ashish Porob, HC Sushan Chopdekar, PC Prakash Polekar, Rajesh Kandolkar, Abhishek Kasar and Akshay Patil.

PSI Kiran Naik is investigating further under the supervision of Mapusa PI, Tushar Lotlikar and SDPO Gajanan Prabhudessai.
