BICHOLIM
A group of locals from Mulgao and Bicholim have sought divine intervention from various deities in the area from Sunday at 5 pm onwards, in a bid to get the government to avoid widening the existing road to a 4-lane road across the villages of Mulgao, Valsi and Bordem of Bicholim taluka.
In a message which is being circulated across various groups, the locals had claimed that Mulgao and Bicholim face grave danger due to the government’s plans to widen the existing road to a 4-lane across the villages of Mulgao, Valsi and Bordem in Bicholim taluka.
“The people protested at the time and managed to temporarily stop the land acquisition process with the support of all past and present elected representatives.”
“Now, with intent to permanently stop the project, the people of Mulgao and Bicholim now seek divine intervention in saving our villages and have planned to offer joint prayers to all deities of these villages, starting from the Mulgao village deity Shree Kelbai on Sunday from 5 pm onwards,” the message adds.
