There are 28 accused persons in the case, the chargesheet runs into 624 pages, and the police have cited 82 witnesses.
That’s the sheer numbers of accused persons, chargesheet pages and the witnesses cited in a criminal case that sent shock waves across the State and brought to the fore the contentious question over the deteriorating law and order situation in the State.
This is perhaps the first time that the Fatorda police had booked so many accused persons in a criminal case wherein accused persons used deadly weapons such as pistols and koitas to attack their rivals.
Incidentally, all the accused arrested in the case for attempt to murder, hail from across the State. One of the accused persons is a native of Rajasthan.
