The Goan Alliance Party (GAP) has demanded a prayer room for Muslims at the Goa Medical College in Bambolim.
In a letter to the chief secretary, GAP President Salim Mulla has said prayer is one of the core tenets of Islam, adding that hospital is a place where people pray for good health and speedy recovery.
"The Muslims feel the need of a prayer room within the Goa Medical College and Hospital Complex at Bambolim. This room will enable Muslims to pray for the well-being and good health of patients undergoing medical treatment at the hospital," Mulla said. "We request the govt to allocate and construct a suitable area of 100 sq mts within the GMC complex for ladies and gents," Mulla added.
