Name minister, action will follow: BJP on sex scandal

MAPUSA

State BJP President Sadanand Tanavade said that the party would take immediate action against the minister involved in the ‘sex scandal’ provided Congress chief Girish Chodankar discloses the name.

“Let him (Girish Chodankar) name the person. Then see whether we will take action or not. We will take immediate action. We will tell the CM to take action. But one must not fire an arrow in the air, we can’t take action like that,” Tanavade said, when journalists sought to know whether the party would take action against the unnamed minister who was allegedly involved in sexually exploiting a young woman.

The State BJP chief said that anyone could come forward and make allegations but one needs to provide credible evidence.

He said the minister should be named and the victim has to also file a complaint with the police.

The Goa Congress President Girish Chodankar claimed that he had accessed a video clip where a minister from the BJP-led government was seen abusing his status to sexually exploit a young woman and also threaten her.

He, however, declined to name the concerned minister but insisted that the CM was aware of the case.
