Amidst the opposition from a section of Goa's population, the Tinaighat-Castlerock-Caranzol rail double tracking project got the nod again from the National Board for Wildlife (NBWL).
In a tweet from his official handle, Union Minister for Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Prakash Javdekar revealed that the project of the South Western Railways has been "recommended" by the NBWL in its 60th meeting.
Javdekar said the proposol has been recommended but with certain mitigation measures suggested by the Wildlife Institute of India based in Dehradun.
"Happy to inform that in its 60th meeting NBWL has recommended the proposal for Tinaighat-Castlerock-Caranzol Railway doubling of South Western Railways, Karnataka with certain mitigation measures as advised by the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun.
