NCP State president Jose Philip D’Souza on Tuesday invited Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, who resigned from the TMC, to join the NCP and contest on its ticket in the Curtorim constituency.
"All secular and like-minded leaders should come together to defeat the BJP. We will be happy if Lourenco joins the NCP,” said D’Souza, while speaking to reporters.
Congress leaders were also keen to have Lourenco back into the party, after he had resigned from the Congress to join the TMC.
Lourenco has not taken any decision as yet and said he would decide on the party in the next two days, after consulting his supporters.
Lourenco had apologised to his supporters and well-wishers for committing the ‘mistake’ of joining TMC. He admitted that his supporters had been unhappy about his decision to join the TMC.
