Congress-turned-BJP MLA Digambar Kamat on Monday said he had never lobbied for any position in his political career spanning three decades, even as he said he has no idea when Saxtti will get representation in the Pramod Sawant government.
Saying that it is the prerogative of the Chief Minister to decide whom to induct in his Cabinet, Kamat said he is now part of a national party and he has no mandate to speak on behalf of the party on the induction of Ministers in the Pramod Sawant cabinet.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Lohia Maidan here on Monday, Kamat said he had never asked for any position with the leadership of the political parties during his entire career. “When it was decided to make me the Chief Minister in 2007, I had never ever dreamt that I would be the Chief Minister. I believe in destiny that no one takes from you what you are destined to get in politics,” he said.
Asked to comment on the statement made by Radharao Gracias that he is tipped to be made the Speaker, Kamat said Radharao has been his good friend and a well-wisher though they may belong to different political parties.
