Goa in-charge Nimbalkar says Modi must mediate between two CMs

Dr Anjali Nimbalkar, a former Karnataka MLA who was recently appointed AICC secretary in-charge of Goa, suggested a negotiated resolution to the vexed Mhadei river water sharing dispute with the Prime Minister mediating the talks between the two Chief Ministers.
Nimbalkar who arrived in Goa on Friday for the first time after being appointed to look after Congress affairs in Goa said she will take responsibility to bring the Karnataka Chief Minister to the discussion table.
"Whenever Goa CM is ready for this discussion on Mhadei, I will take the responsibility of bringing Karnataka CM onto the discussion table. Let Prime Minister intermediate," Nimbalkar said while speaking to media persons. She asserted that the Mhadei issue has to be resolved.
Meanwhile, Nimbalkar will assist the AICC Goa desk in-charge and former Maharashtra minister Manickrao Thakare in managing the party affairs in Goa.
Both Thakare and Nimbalkar addressed a press conference on Friday along with GPCC president Amit Patkar and Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, where they announced the party's preparations to win the Zilla Parishad elections in Goa which will be due next year.
They also announced that the party will hold a membership drive from October 2.
