New director at BITS Pilani Goa
PANAJI: Senior Prof G Raghurama assumed charge as director of the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus on November 1. Prof Raghurama joined BITS, Pilani in 1987 and was appointed professor in 2000, and senior professor in 2012 in the Electronics & Instrumentation Group at BITS. He teaches courses and guides research in the areas of Electronic Sciences, Communication Systems, Telecommunications & Networks and has published more than 40 research papers in journals and conferences.
He completed his MSc from IIT Madras, and his PhD in Physics from IISc Bangalore. He is the recipient of a research grant from Nokia in 2000, the Faculty Champion Award from Microsoft in 2007 and has been recognized and felicitated by SkillTree Knowledge Consortium with the title SkillTree Education Evangelist of India 2014.
