The100-bedded hospital was built keeping in view of the growing population and the health requirements in Pernem taluka and Parsekar had plans to provide all possible facilities at the new Tuem hospital.

Mandrem Sarpanch Adv Amit Sawant pointed out that the new hospital will prove to be a boon for the people of Pernem taluka.
Tuem Sarpanch Sulaksha Naik appealed that local unemployed youth and others who have completed health courses be given jobs in the hospital.
Former Mandrem sarpanch Subhash Asolkar said both the MLAs from Pernem taluka should try to give employment to at least 10 local health workers.
