Following the developments, the owners of the vessel were left with no option other than withdrawing their petition, which was filed earlier this year.
The court, has however, allowed the vessel to be surveyed for damages in the River Mandovi when it is refloated, subject to the necessary permissions by the Captain of Ports Department.
Earlier during the course of the hearing the Bombay High Court at Goa had come down strongly on the grounding of the vessel at the Miramar beach saying it would monitor the progress of the removal every week.
On Tuesday, the Court asked the Captain of Ports department to come forward with a time frame on the survey of the damaged vessel and its refloating operations.
Golden Globe Hotels had filed three petitions in the Bombay High Court at Goa over the course of the last few months seeking that permission for its vessel be granted after it paid the renewal fees amounting to `50 crore.
Subsequently the state government processed the renewal and granted it a casino licence which is inoperational as the terms and conditions of the casino licence were not met. Attempts to refloat the vessel have to date been unsuccessful with efforts on to seal the crack in the vessel's hull over the next two weeks.
